Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Did I miss something? Having spent the first 20 years of my life as an expatriate, there were certain things I missed out on, having not grown up in these United States. One was Little Caesars. I was familiar with the old slogan ("Pizza! Pizza!") and the little toga dude. I have had friends raving about the pizza chain with the little toga guy yelling about pizza (and having to repeat himself.) Over the past decade, I've tasted every pizza from every pizza chain that has dared to rear it's head in the DC area. Pizza Hut, CPK, Ledo's, Papa John's, Uno's, Domino's..and so fourth. But Little Caesars? Never had it. They've never been here. Shame on them. But a few months ago, they opened up a location across from Lakeforest Mall (and coincidentally a 5 minute walk from my man-cave). So I decided to give it a shot. Due to the stripped down business model (they don't have ANY tables to sit down and nosh at) and the brevity of my visit (a mere minute) I can only comment on the pepperoni pizza I ordered and carried home. As you might already have figured, they don't deliver. I've had better. Much better. It is an entirely uninspiring pizza. I am craving a Ledo's pineapple and ham right now (but they don't deliver either...yet *rubs hands together menacingly*) This is the pizza equivalent of Jennifer Aniston. Homely, boring and plain but it had enough moments in it's youth to still inspire devotion. The brevity of the menu (crazy bread, pizza and wings) also doesn't inspire an adventurous eater like me to make frequent visits. "Oh, I had the pepperoni last week...I think I'll have...a CHEESE pizza today!" Meh. I still don't get it.

Pizza ! Pizza! Its been a while since I have been to Little Caesars, mostly because they use to be in all the K-Marts, and they probably got roughed up by the invasion and expansion of the B.I.G. POPPA John. They are back, and now it seems instead of "PIZZA! PIZZA!", their strategy is more "FAST PIZZA!" They now practice the JUST IN TIME Inventory method (business majors. holla) and always have a large cheese or pepperoni available fresh out of the oven available for $5. They also do the same with their crazy bread for 2.50, and chicken wings for $5 (not sure the amount of wings) You will be in and out of the place in less than 1 minute. You go in tell them pepperoni or cheese, they give you one coming out fresh, and you slap down $5 and some change for uncle sam, and walk off with your pizza. Its faster than ordering from Mickey Ds. While their pizza is not the best pizza, its really hard to make BAD PIZZA. That and on top of the childhood memories of getting Little Caesars, this pizza was awesome. Since they are so fast in filling their order, and right outside my neighborhood, I can see myself hitting up Little Caesars frequently.

Awwww snap! Little ceasers is amazing. Large cheese or pepperoni for $5 is even better than subway's $5 footlong.

I'm CRAZY about their crazy bread. The "hot-n-ready" concept is a good one too; hungry carryout patrons need not wait to place an order, but can pick up their pies as they walk in the store (as long as their pies are either cheese or pepperoni, I believe).

I must say that I was impressed by the service here. The pizza and the food is always the same since it is a chain restaurant, but the service was BING BANG WAM Thank you MAM. I went in, ordered 3 pizzas, the guy knew the price with tax, charged my card, walked out with the pizza in hand in less than 2 minutes. It would have been less than a minute, but the credit card machine took an extra 30 seconds. The food is the same as you would expect from Little Caesars. For the 5.55 pizza, you should really eat it within 6 hours of buying it. I tried reheating it and it just does not taste the same. I tried reheating it again about a day later, and it was as hard as a cardboard. Just eat it soon!

$5 cheese, pepperoni, or sausage pizzas hot & ready at any time? How can you go wrong? While it isn't the best pizza ever, it is better than a number of places that are more expensive. I use them at least once a year to feed large church functions (bulk ordering, which we pick up), as it is very affordable. I go there many times a year for smaller amounts of pizza too. This is currently my go-to pizza place.

Start your engines everybody, because LITTLE CAESARS IS BACK! I first got tipped off about Little Caesars coming back a week ago, when a brother saw a sign going up across from Lakeforest Mall (It's in the old Blockbuster location). I stopped by last night to see when they were opening, and found out it was today! I have so many memories from childhood of driving across town to get Little Caesars pizza, it was pretty much the only carry-out we ate. I had to say "Pizza-Pizza" to the cashier to get free crazy bread, YAY! Then came the cold day when LC was ripped away from the area. The only thing left was the bad imitation in the local K-mart. Since then, other pizzas have made do. But not anymore! This particular location does not offer delivery, and true to LC's newer business model, offers "Hot n Fresh" cheese and pepperoni pizzas ready to go at any time you walk in, for only $5 each. They will make pizzas to order of course. Also, crazy bread *drool* (and only $2.50 with sauce). Enough said. I am almost trembling with the first taste of crazy bread in my hand after so long... I can't wait to dig in. Is it the best pizza ever? Surely not, but it is good, was a favorite of my youth, and it is GREAT that they are back.
